NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING REPEALING AND RECREATING SECTION 10.06 (6) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO STORAGE OF RECREATIONAL VEHICLES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held at the Town of West Bend Town Hall, 6355 CTH Z, West Bend, WI 53095 on Wednesday September 8, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. before the Town Board of the Town of West Bend to consider repealing and recreating Section 10.06 (6) of the Municipal Code of the Town of west Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin.

                                EXISTING

No person shall store any recreational equipment on any street right of way of within the front setback, including the driveway, for a period of more than 48 hours.

                                PROPOSED

Property owners of a premises, (including an adjoining tax parcel) that have a home located thereon, that have functioning well, plumbing, electrical and septic/sanitary systems, may store one camping unit on the premises (but not within the Road Right of Way) without it being inside a building.

Camping Unit:

Any vehicle designed for temporary human habitation for travel, camping, vacation use and recreation equipped with wheels or placed upon a wheeled device for the the purpose of transportation from place to place. This term shall include only the following: Camper Trailer, Motor Home, Travel Trailer and Truck Camper/Slide in Pick up Camper defined as follows:

Camper Trailer: A folding or collapsible vehicle without its own motive power, designed and constructed as temporary living quarters for travel, camping, recreation or vacation use.

Motor Home: A temporary dwelling designed and constructed for travel, camping, recreational; or vacation uses as an integral part of a self propelled vehicle.

Travel Trailer: A rigid vehicular structure without its own motive power, designed as a temporary living quarters fro travel, camping, recreation or vacation use.

Truck Camper/Slide in Pick Up Camper: A structure designed primarily to be mounted on a pick up chassis and designed to be used as a temporary dwelling for travel, camping, recreation or vacation use. When mounted on the truck such structure shall together be considered on vehicle.

Mobile Homes are defined and regulated by the Town Zoning Ordinances and are not included in the definition of recreational vehicles.

Copy of the proposed Ordinance is available at the Town hall during normal business hours.
